A season of hope, kindness and incredible community spirit!

There's nothing quite like the magic of DIY SOS: The Big Build Ireland. From emotional family stories to extraordinary home transformations, every episode reminds us of the amazing things that can happen when people come together to make a difference.

At Scatter Box, we believe that a home is so much more than four walls. It's a place of comfort, security, happiness and cherished memories. That's why we've always been so passionate about supporting DIY SOS: The Big Build Ireland, and why we were absolutely delighted to contribute to all four builds in the 2026 season!

From beautiful cushions and cosy throws to statement wall art, lighting, rugs, furniture and decorative accessories, our team proudly donated a selection of Scatter Box furnishings to each build, helping to bring warmth, personality and those all-important finishing touches to the newly transformed homes.

As another heartwarming season comes to an end, we're taking a look back at the four wonderful families and the incredible transformations that made this series so special.

Episode 1: Ramona & Oran – Kildare

The season kicked off in Kildare, where Baz Ashmawy and the DIY SOS team took on a deeply personal project for Ramona and her five-year-old son, Oran.

Their story set the tone for another emotional and inspiring series, as an incredible team of tradespeople, volunteers and suppliers came together to make a meaningful difference to their lives.

For Ramona and Oran, this transformation was about so much more than a house. It was about creating a warm, welcoming and comfortable home where they could make wonderful memories together.

Episode 2: The Purcell Family – Westbury

In episode two, the DIY SOS team travelled to Westbury, on the border of Limerick and Clare, to meet the Purcell family: Nikita, Alex, AJ and Carter.

With the support of the local community and an amazing team of volunteers, the project brought a fresh start for the family.

It was another beautiful reminder of how generosity, teamwork and a little bit of kindness can go such a long way. From the major building work right down to the smallest finishing details, every contribution helped create a beautiful home for the Purcell family to enjoy.

Episode 3: The Leonard Family – Bray, Co. Wicklow

Episode three brought us to Bray, Co. Wicklow, where the team met the Leonard family.

Once again, the true spirit of DIY SOS shone through as people from all walks of life came together to transform a family's home.

Beyond the building work and beautiful interiors, what makes these projects so special is the sense of community behind them. Watching everyone pull together to create something so meaningful is exactly why we love being involved.

Episode 4: The Harte Family – Walsh Island, Co. Offaly

The final episode of the season took the team to Walsh Island in Co. Offaly, where they met the Harte family.

Bringing the series to a close, this final build was another wonderful example of the compassion, generosity and community spirit that makes DIY SOS: The Big Build Ireland such a special programme.

From the skilled tradespeople who donated their time to the businesses and suppliers who contributed materials and furnishings, everyone played their part in helping create a beautiful home for the family.

It was a fitting end to a season filled with extraordinary teamwork, emotional moments and inspiring stories.

Adding Those Special Scatter Box Finishing Touches

There's nothing our team loves more than seeing a room come together, and being involved in DIY SOS makes that experience even more rewarding.

For each of this season's four builds, Scatter Box proudly donated a range of our home furnishings, including cushions, throws, wall art, lighting, rugs, furniture and decorative accessories.

Whether it's a cosy throw draped over a sofa, a beautiful piece of artwork bringing a room to life, or the perfect cushions adding colour and texture, we know that it's often those little details that make a house truly feel like a home.

Seeing our products become part of these incredible transformations is something that means a great deal to everyone at Scatter Box. Knowing that these pieces will be enjoyed by the families for years to come makes it even more special.

And, of course, one of the highlights for our team is always getting the chance to catch up with the wonderful Baz Ashmawy! It's always a pleasure to meet Baz on the builds, share a chat and see his enthusiasm and genuine care for the families first-hand. His warmth, humour and infectious energy are such a big part of what makes the programme so loved, and our team always enjoys catching up with him!

Giving Back Is at the Heart of What We Do

As a second-generation, family-owned Irish business with roots stretching back to 1959, family and community have always been at the heart of Scatter Box.

We've been proud supporters of DIY SOS: The Big Build Ireland over the years because we truly believe in what the programme stands for: helping others, supporting families and bringing communities together.

For us, taking part is about much more than donating home furnishings. It's an opportunity to give something back, use what we do best to make a positive difference and contribute to a project that will have a lasting impact on the lives of these families.

We're incredibly grateful to be involved in an initiative that reflects so many of the values we hold close as an Irish family business.

More Than Just a Makeover

What makes DIY SOS so extraordinary isn't just the breathtaking before-and-after reveals. It's the people behind them.

The volunteers who generously give up their time. The tradespeople who share their skills. The businesses who donate products and materials. And, of course, the families who welcome the nation into their lives and share their stories with such courage.

Each build represents something far greater than a home renovation. It represents hope, new beginnings and the incredible power of people coming together.

A huge thank you to Baz Ashmawy, the entire DIY SOS team and everyone who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make this season possible. We're so proud to have played a small part in each of these amazing transformations.

And to Ramona and Oran, the Purcell family, the Leonard family and the Harte family, we wish you all the happiness in the world as you make wonderful new memories in your beautiful homes.
