Abbeylands Furniture T/A Scatter Box is a proudly Irish, family-founded company with a rich history of resilience, creativity, and innovation. Established in 1959 by Danny Fitzpatrick, the company began as a furniture manufacturer and has since grown into a multi-faceted enterprise with three strong pillars: Foam Conversion, Contract Interiors, and Scatter Box.
Our story is one of adaptation and vision, now led by Danny’s eldest daughter Caroline Horgan as Managing Director, whose passion for design and determination to diversify secured Abbeylands’ place as a leader in the Irish and international home furnishings industry.

Scatter Box is the designer home-furnishings division of Abbeylands Furniture Ltd, a proud Irish family‑run business founded in 1959 by Danny Fitzpatrick in Navan, Co. Meath. With over 65 years of experience, the company remains privately held and firmly rooted in its local heritage. Operating from a 38,000 sq. ft facility in Navan, Scatter Box manufactures some of its range in-house—especially cushions, ottomans, and bespoke soft furnishings.
Scatter Box is anchored in innovation, Irish manufacturing, and design-driven creativity—delivering high-quality, on-trend products at accessible price points. The company’s “Guaranteed Irish” ethos highlights local craftsmanship, while its dynamic design output and trade expertise appeal to a broad B2B and retail audience.
Foam Conversion
Supplying nationwide furniture makers with precision foam solutions.
A core part of the Abbeylands business is its dedicated Foam Conversion division, which supplies both the company’s own product lines and a wide range of external manufacturing clients. This division transforms raw foam into precision-cut, shaped, and fabricated components tailored for use in upholstery, cushions, mattresses, and specialist seating applications. By controlling this process in-house, Abbeylands ensures exacting quality standards, flexibility, and responsiveness to bespoke specifications.
Alongside foam, the business also produces and supplies feather and fibre bespoke products to leading furniture manufacturers, offering tailored fillings that meet comfort, durability, and design requirements. This vertical integration supports the wider Scatter Box and Abbeylands operations, enabling seamless coordination between material sourcing, production, and finishing—ultimately ensuring consistent quality and performance across every product supplied.
Contract Division

Abbeylands’ Contract & Hospitality division specialises in delivering bespoke soft furnishings and interior accents to the hotel, leisure, and contract sectors. Drawing on over six decades of experience, this division offers tailored solutions—ranging from cushions, throws and upholstery fabrics to made-to-measure curtains and carefully curated artwork.
Many of the products are crafted in their extensive manufacturing facility in Navan, Co. Meath, where quality and attention to detail are at the forefront of every design. The team partners directly with hotel groups, interior designers, fitout companies and hospitality contractors to translate creative briefs into high-quality, durable products that balance aesthetic ambition with operational practicality.
The division’s commitment to local manufacturing enables it to deliver consistency, responsiveness and Irish-made excellence to contract clients across Ireland and the UK.
